Rosin Consistency
Why does some rosin have a wet consistency, and others dry? Is this a quality indicator?
Rosin texture is mostly dictated by the terpene profiles and content, but processing technique can also come into play.
Some processors will use high heat on rosin to produce a "jam"... We prefer jarring our fresh press and letting it cure at room temperature until ready to be homogenized. Since we don't manipulate the texture of our rosin, some strains come out wet/soft and others more dry. It's up to the terps for us.
Our Sundae Driver has a terpene profile that, at it's peak, produces a very terpy rosin with a badder-like consistency.
Guava'Z on the other hand produces a drier resin, which translates into the rosin.
We've had positive feedback on both these strains, so we don't think texture is an immediate indicator of quality. However, we do love taking that first scoop out of a badder-y rosin. Do you agree?
